You are there Lord

You are there Lord, when my voice shakes when my hand trembles when I lay awake in my bed, unable to sleep with worries running through my head.

You are there Lord, when I cry in the toilet, when silent tears soak my pillow, when I work late into the night racing against the ticking clock trying to make every second count

You are there Lord, when I am exhausted when I am tired when I am frustrated with hard work, endurance and perseverance

You are there Lord, when I see no light.

But you are also there Lord, when I solve a problem when I generate a new idea when I see a new perspective that leaves me celebrating diversity

You are also there Lord, when I smile when I rejoice when a friendly nod adds a little spark to otherwise mundane lives.

You are also there Lord, when I pick up from a fall when I stand up with shaking knees when I cheer because I could, and because when I cheered, I am cheered up --little by little.

You are there Lord, when I trudge through anyway when I walk in the darkness for I know the light is within me as the Spirit is with me.

You are there Lord, and that made all the difference. Whether I feel your presence or not, whether I see your working hand or not, with faith as small as a mustard seed, I pray we will walk.

Because that's what pleases you. To deny ourselves, pick up the cross and follow you. And I pray we do that. That we walk in your footsteps. And remember, we do not walk alone.
